NOVEMBER ENDINGS

Hello Crafters,

It's been busy the past couple of days with "black friday", arrival of new products in the store, and restocking - reorganizing the stores. Debbie West spent several hours with us last night using her merchandising talents to create a Christmas display.
Speaking of Debbie, she has just 3 spots left in her Dec. 4th class: Holiday Cookie and Recipe Exchange. Priscilla has 1 seat left in her Bamboo Greetings class on Dec. 10th & 11th. If you would like to sign up for either class, please contact me at the store 261-2882.
If someone special is looking for an idea for Christmas gift and they don't know what you have or the difference between a brad or a Scor-Pal, may I suggest one of our Gift Certificates. That way your sure of getting what you would like in your "stocking". Also, if you want, drop off a "Wish List" to me and I'll personally help "him or her" find the item.
Almost forgot... there's still time to enter the Reindeer Escapades Contest. The prizes are $100.00 First Place, $50.00 Second Place, and $25.00 Third Place (A Place in Time) Gift certificates. Entries are due by Dec. 5th.
For details on all of the above, you can scroll down through previous blog entries of just give me call.
That's all for now. See you tomorrow.

NOVEMBER UPDATE #3

I wanted to share Priscilla's most recent artistic creation. It's a "Shaker Card" with a winter theme. It is also a "sample" of one thing that can be done with the elements included in the "kit" for our newest contest entitled: " REINDEER ESCAPADES CONTEST". In the "kit" are 4 reindeer. You may use all 4 but no less than 3 reindeer in your design. It is up to you to determine the format. It could be a card, scrapbook page, or anything else your creative mind might come up with. All projects must be submitted by 4:00 pm Sunday, December 5th. 1st place in the judging will win a $100.00 A Place in Time gift certificate. There will be gift certificate prizes for 2nd and 3rd place also. The cost is $2.00 per entry with $1.00 of that going to the "FOOD BANK".

You can enter as many times as you wish. Contact me at the store for further details.

We wanted to thank Sarah DeGuzman for sharing her crafting talents in teaching "The Holidays Mini album". All those that attended the class had a fantastic time. We hope that Sarah has the opportunity to visit friends and family once again in the near future. Of course we will try and persuade her to teach another class.

November Update #2

In response to the inquiries, I received a photo of Debbie's "Gingerbread House" Album. I think you will agree with me that it is very cute. As a reminder, the Gingerbread House is a part of Debbie's upcoming class: "Holiday Cookie & Recipe Exchange on Sat. Dec. 4th. For additional details please scroll on down to a previous entry for additional details. Those that will be taking her class will enjoy this project as well as the cookie recipes that will go into it. I can almost smell the aroma of the cookies.

NOVEMBER UPDATE #1

I mentioned that we are getting more items on almost a daily basis. For those of you that missed out on the initial order of the Doodle Stamps, they are back on the shelves. One new stamp is the Doodle Hearts. It will be perfect for those that like to make the 3"x3" cards. Also back on the shelves are the "destination" stickers. We now have Waimanalo and Kaneohe in addition to Kailua and Lanikai. As you know, Dreamweaver is a big product line for us in the store. Lynell just sent us her newest display board for the fast approaching holiday season. Swing by the store to see it. We also received a sample of a new product line she is offering to us. I don't know all the details yet, but I have a sample if you want to see it.

Anything else? Oh yes! Manufacturing has been really busy.We are networking with the Dolphin Store at Pearl Harbor and busy making Christmas ornaments for the many submarines stationed at Pearl. We just completed an order for the Laie Hawaii Temple making amost 500 name tags. The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on the Big Island has just informed us that they want 800 name tags for all of their staff. The USS Olympia will be returning to Pearl Harbor soon. We are diecuting and engraving 150 ornaments that will be attached to kukui nut leis. The leis are a welcome home gift to the sailors aboard the sub. We have jobs pending that involve engraving glassware, koa boxes, wooden pineapples, and gecko diecuts. Whew!!! Thank goodness for Art. He is a treasure to have working in our store. I'm constantly amazed at his talent. If your thinking about Christmas gifts, please let me know how I can help you.

See you tomorrow.

Classes :

HOLIDAY COOKIE AND RECIPE EXCHANGE by Debbie West
Sat. Dec. 4th 6:30-8:30pm.
Cost: $20.00

We did a recipe event last year and it was a huge success. Participants this year will decorate
a recipe book in the shape of a "Gingerbread House". At this writing, you are asked to bring six (6x6 decorated) copies of your favorite cookie recipe to exchange with others in the class. This will make up the "body" of the recipe book. Also, you are asked to bring 6 - one dozen cookies to exchange. Beverages and paper products will be provided. I will offer my tasting services if needed. Tools required: Basic Tool Kit and an appetite for cookies and a fun time. I'll post a photo of the Gingerbread House as soon as possible.

BAMBOO GREETINGS by Priscilla Teska
This is a dynamic 2 part project

Part 1: Friday Dec. 10th 6:30-8:30 pm
Part 2: Saturday Dec. 11th 2:00-4:00 pm
Cost: $45.00

Priscilla has created a very elegant gift box that has an Asian flavor. This will make the perfect gift for that special someone - unless you decide to keep it for yourself.
Part 1 - Students will work with the Ten Seconds Studio metal products to make an original
bamboo embossed motif that was created by Priscilla for the cover of the box. You will also be
painting the box cover.
Part 2 - You will be creating compartments for the interior of the box. Into these compartments you will make 6 - 3x3 gift tag cards and 5 - A2 sized cards.
This is really one of the best designs that I've seen. You will have to come by the store to see the class sample for yourself. The photo below really doesn't do it justice. Supplies to bring: Basic Tool Kit, 1/2"-1" paint brush or a sponge brush, double side tape, liquid adhesive, brown ink pad, moss green and light pink brush pens.

2nd SUNDAY MAKE and TAKE December 12th 2:00-5:00 pm Cost: Free

Priscilla is in the decision making process and I'll update the blog once I know what you will "make and take". I'm sure it will be a fun Christmas oriented design. "Fa La La La La"

The make and take this last Sunday was attended by young and old. Each made a "telescopic box" and embellished it using our new Sizzix Eclips machine. Some of our customers are telling us they are going to use the telescopic boxes as Christmas ornaments.

NEW IN THE STORE

New items seem to be coming in on a daily basis. Priscilla has me checking in, pricing, and stocking, sometimes I get lunch. Just yesterday we received a shipment from Bazzil to add to our already extensive line of paper. Also, back in the store are the 22x17 self healing cutting mats.
New to our store from C-Thru are their line of ATC trading cards, colorful beads, and the artist trading card kits. The themes are Angels and Fairies & Travel and Memories. I thought the ultra fine glitter that feel like felt was "hot", but this product line is offering a lot of excitement. Stay tuned for samples.

Tim Holtz diecuts have arrived along with the Sizzix Christmas themed diecuts. "Reindeer Flight", "Rickity House", "Branch Tree", "Tattered Flowers" are a few of the Tim Holtz line we received. You will also enjoy his embossing patterns of "musical notes", "brick and wood grain sets", and the "damask & regal flourishes" set.

Priscilla is excited about our new tool - the Eclips by Sizzix. Actually, she's happy as a clam because it cut her time down to minutes in preparing for the 2nd Sunday Make and Take. It's a very user friendly tool and it comes with a remote. To me that also qualifies it as a "man tool". Because we are currently sold out,we are extending our current offer of giving everyone a $50.00 Gift Certificate to those that pre-order the machine. This would make a fantastic Christmas gift. And with the gift certificate you won't find a better "deal". We waited a long time to bring you the "right" electronic tool. Call me for further information.

We will be closed on Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for so many things this year, one of those things is you, our friends and customers. We've been in business for 5 years now and we thank you for all of your support in keeping the crafting spirit alive.

More information and photos to come - make sure you stay tuned.

See you tomorrow.
