Happenings at A Place in Time on April 19, 2012

Good Evening Everyone,

April is past the midway point and you can tell that spring is just around the corner. I really like this time of year. Winter's heavy rains are gone and the sun rises earlier and sets later. My work day is just as long, but the chances of arriving and leaving the store while the sun is still shining is greater.

Did you know that the Kailua Town Party is this Sunday (22nd)? One store that is participating in the event is Global Village. Part of their activity is offering free "tattooing" using an airbrush and featuring some stencils made by "A Place in Time". So, if you want something fun to do on Sunday, take in the Kailua festivities. You can also visit the new Whole Foods store that just opened yesterday. While your in the area, please stop by and visit with us for a moment or two. You can do Priscilla's new "Craft Snacks and Tidbits". It wont take long and you can see the new paper. Read on for more details

The heart and soul of any craft store is the paper that is on display. Everything else is really an accessory to the paper. Even my passion for the tools. Priscilla does a great job in selecting paper and yesterday a new shipment arrived. There are 26 designs that are new to the store and are sure to satisfy your crafting taste buds. Priscilla says "it has a classic Asian flair". Tomorrow, another delivery of paper is scheduled to arrive to add to our wide selection of solid colors. Now, all I have to do is find a place on the shelves to display it. I like the way we display our paper. A customer can easily browse the racks to select the design they're looking for.

New to the store also, is a fresh supply of Copic Pens in all new colors. You may even find a set of 12 still available- this is the new set that Copic just came out with.

Classes:

Priscilla and I are constantly looking for new ways to create interest for our customers and to add to their crafting knowledge. We are going to try something new on future Sunday afternoons. "Craft Snacks and Tidbits" is the title we will use to identify a craft project that we hope you all will enjoy. Beginning this Sunday, April 22nd (1:00 - 4:00pm) you will be invited to come into the store and do whatever project Priscilla has designed. It wont take a lot of time and it may involve elements that you will find around your home. If you miss one Sunday, it may be repeated later in the month. This coming Sunday, (22nd), Priscilla will be offering the "Pop Up Butterfly Card" that you may have missed two weeks ago. Did I mention the cost? It's FREE. Donate $1.00 to the basket for the Foodbank if you you wish to.

Priscilla just "popped in" to my space - she was testing out a new product and does it ever have a "WOW" factor. More to come on that.

That's all for now... my fingers are tired... I'll see you tomorrow.

Ps.  I just had to show you this photo: Jenny came into the store on Monday and was wearing new earrings that she had made using paper from our store. How "cool" is that!!! They looked fantastic. Great job Jenny.....
